The Diary of An Assistant Boyfriend: TRAVAILS OF THE FRIEND ZONE (Episode 2)
My name is ADEBISI OLADELE.... Welcome to the friend zone!
Christy felt succour on my shoulder. After a few minutes silence, the words came at last. Christy, its not the end of the world, there is still hope, those were the only words I could manage mutter. I switched mode that night from Dele the tormentor to Dele the comforter. A whole lot has changed in the last few minutes, Christy who is like a core enemy to me has drifted into sleep on my shoulders. Wow! No prophet would have ever seen this coming. Indeed our God works in mysterious ways. I stood up, carried her in my arms. I approached her bed with her small body in my hands, I bent to lay her down to sleep...
I laid Christy's body on her small hostel size bed. This girl and all of her small sized materials. Well a bigger bed size for people like her will just be tantamount to space wastage and mismanagement. A punishable offence under section 142 sub section 4 of the constitution of Federal Republic of Nowhere. I watched as she slept peacefully, what a beautiful sight to behold. I covered her body with her blanket for it was a cold night. I tried standing up for me to head home, Christy's hand drew me back... I heard her say...Stay with me...
Dele, o ri wipe temi ti baje (can't you see my life is in ruins)... I was jolted back to reality by Christy's lamentation, I was there still holding the sheet of paper she gave me. I have been imagining things all this while. Ehen! I thought as much, christy will only drift into sleep with her head on my shoulder and also allow me carry her in my arms under one condition - all these will DEFINITELY happen my IMAGINATION. Well, life sometimes can be like Samsung... Its not that hard to imagine.
What am I going to tell them at home? She started sobbing. I moved closer, gave her a pat on the back (that's the farthest I can go in reality). Christy, o ti to (its enough), stop crying. I started encouraging Christy, the soothing words started flowing out of my mouth. The word flow was good, it was even better than my yab and whining flow. I didn't struggle for words here, it came naturally unlike my yeye Samsung imagination advert... Mtcheeewww! At last I was able to ease Christy's stress, she stopped crying. I left Ch:risty a happier person than I met her which is indeed very unusual. It is usually the other way round.
I stepped out of Christy's room fulfilled. I made someone smile and forget her sorrows, waoh! That's some huge deal for me, more or less like first of its kind ever. I was known for making people feel bad and frustrated, for me to smile somebody has to frown, my happiness is usually achieved by making others upset. Once you sight Dele laughing, just know that somebody very close is either frowning or upset. Annoying people was my hobby... It was so much fun for me, Yes! I was that bad.
Christy is in the picture now... Things are about to change... For better or worse? Let's wait and see.
To whom it may concern: this is mostly a pure work of fiction... You think i m writing bout lagbaja n tamedo... OYO is your case.. Or worse worse... Call police!
